Century West Engineering awarded portion of the City of Bend's General Obligation Bond Transportation Improvement Project
Century West Engineering, on a team lead by HDR Inc., is awarded a design and consulting services contract as part of the City of Bend's G.O. Bond Transportation Improvement Project.
On May 17, 2011 City of Bend voters approved the $30 million Transportation Improvement General Obligation Bond to improve economic development opportunities, and transportation safety, access, and connectivity. The Bond received support from a broad coalition of individuals and organizations in the community. The entire project includes several street improvements including the construction of 3 new roundabouts and the widening of approximately 8,000 feet of Reed Market Road. Century West Engineering's primary role will be to design the widening of Reed Market Road to arterial street standards from 3rd Street to American Lane. Century West will also provide surface water analysis, stormwater drainage and management, and utility coordination, relocation, and design for all portions of the project. The team, comprised primarily of local consultants and contractors, was selected over several national firms based on a strong understanding of the project and the challenges associated with such a large construction project in Central Oregon.
