Company Profile for Century West Engineering
About Century West
Century West has been supporting communities throughout the Pacific Northwest by providing civil consulting engineering services since 1969. In this, our 39th year of business, we take pride in continuing to maintain a focus on what we believe is truly important: our commitment to our clients and our community. Although a lot has changed over the last 39 years, one concept still holds true: Century West believes in working with clients to develop partnerships that create innovative, thoughtful solutions to project challenges.
We recognize that true capability is helping our clients to
achieve their description of project success. Each client has
different values and needs. The cornerstone of our approach is
to first listen and understand before acting. Century West will
take the time necessary to meet with you to make sure we
understand your concerns, project needs and goals. Through
close communications we will serve as an extension of your
staff, addressing project issues as they arise, without delay.
This promotes prompt resolution to problems and keeps the
project on schedule and within budget.
The Century West team is well organized and efficiently managed to ensure that the project is a success from both a technical and non-technical standpoint. Based on many years of experience with public and private sector projects, Century West believes quality control is fundamentally achieved by assigning qualified personnel to projects and by holding regular project review meetings with our clients. The qualified personnel starts with the project manager and extends throughout our team. Our initial project management approach is to carefully review project tasks and assign the right personnel to meet each task requirement. As the project gets implemented, Century West initiates a monthly status report to establish and maintain effective communication between the Century West team and our client. Status reports summarize activities that occurred and issues that were resolved in the last reporting period, senior and independent reviews of key deliverables, and activities planned for the next reporting period.
Century West has
developed a corporate project management manual that is the
blue print for managing every project we undertake. It outlines
and defines the structure of the client-consultant
relationship, provides for client review and approval of the
project management plan and has proven over time to ensure
project communication, understanding, and success.
Century West has developed Quality Control procedures aimed at helping to produce thorough and complete submittals to provide our clients with high quality services. In general, all technical documents, including drafts, are reviewed by an independent registered professional other than the project design engineer or technical author to assure: 1) technical content and numerical accuracy, including accurate and appropriate conclusions and recommendations, and 2) completeness.
