Integration Services

Picture 009.jpgCentury West Integration Services provides Telemetry and SCADA System Improvements and System Integration and Programming. Our company builds low voltage control panels which are used to monitor and control motors and equipment typically associated with sewer, water, and utility systems. We assemble and install control panels that are strictly low voltage, not requiring an electrical contractor’s license. All high voltage wiring and equipment are provided by others. We also provide computerized (RTU, MTU) units that monitor and control the operation of equipment and provide the necessary programming for the process’s  that the equipment is intended for, using standard software programs purchased from others.

Select Project Descriptions

Water Department Telemetry Project; Coeur d’Alene, Idaho

Coeur.jpgThis project consisted of the design, manufacture and installation of several telemetry control panels to integrate the cities wells, reservoirs, and booster stations to a central control location at the Water Department’s main office. The system operates on a hybrid communications set-up with spread spectrum radios as the primary communications and leased phone lines to reach some remotely inaccessible sites. Rugid Computers were used for the RTUs, providing all measurement and control functions at the remote sites and interfacing with the SCADA computer at the office. The graphical and control portion of the Human Machine Interface on the SCADA computer was configured using Citect SCADA software providing the departments operators the ability to fully monitor and control the complete water system from one central location as well as from home or elsewhere with the remote access laptop. The reporting databases were set up using Microsoft SQL Server and Excel, logging all the systems critical information to the databases and then formatting the information into operator defined and selected reports. Remote alarm notification is provided by an integral Rugid Computers dialer module that it installed in the Master RTU.

Water Department Telemetry Project; Pullman, Washington
This project consisted of the design and manufacture of remote telemetry panels for the City of Pullman Water Department. On-site inspection, verification, and consulting services were provided during the construction and installation portion of this project to ensure the contractors installed everything to meet or exceed specifications. Siemens PLCs were incorporated as the RTUs to provide all monitor, status, and control for the departments various remote site functions. The communications from the master to the remotes was accomplished with a leased line system provided by a data bridge at the local phone utility. The cities SCADA programming sub-contractor provided the graphical and control portion of the Human Machine Interface on the cities intranet network using Citect SCADA software providing the departments operators the ability to fully monitor and control the complete water system from multiple network locations.

Sewer Collection Department Telemetry and Alarm Project; Colfax, Washington

Colfax.jpgThis project consisted of the design, manufacture, and installation of a remote telemetry panel and the required instrumentation to incorporate the cities only lift station into their existing water department telemetry system for the purpose of monitoring and reporting any problems. The original lift station was designed and built with an emergency overflow routed to the Palouse River. The public works personnel required an immediate notification in advance of the overflow to respond appropriately. An ultrasonic level transmitter was installed to monitor and record the level and also to calculate the flow for record keeping purposes. Adjustable set points allow the operator to determine the amount of advance warning to be able to respond the alarm in a timely fashion. Communications is accomplished by spread spectrum radio with integration of the lift station site into the cities existing water department SCADA system where flows and levels are logged into the reporting software and alarms can be dialed out to on-call personnel during night and weekend hours.

Waste Water Treatment Plant Control and Alarm Project; Reardan, Washington

Reardan.jpgThis project consisted of the design, manufacture, and installation of control panel for the town’s new waste water treatment operation to monitor and control the plants functions. The control system monitors and controls the functions of the head works, influent, fine screen, back-up generator, lagoons, blowers, UV disinfectant, and effluent portions of the plant. The waste water treatment plant is graphically displayed on the SCADA computer with indications for all equipment status and alarms. Required information is logged to reporting database for compilation into reports such as influent and effluent flows and totals on a daily, weekly, or yearly time format. Remote alarm notification is accomplished by means of an integrated phone alarm dialer system.
