Linn Road Improvements

Eagle Point, OR

Project

Linn Road is the centerpiece corridor between Highway 62 and the City of Eagle Point’s downtown district. Century West provided overall design and management of multiple team members that incorporated environmental, stormwater, ADA, ROW impacts, utility, landscape architecture, and access issues along the route. Prior to the project, Linn Road had one travel lane and one bike lane in each direction and sidewalks present on only one side of the street. On the opposite side of the street, there were no sidewalks or gutters present, which occasionally resulted in stormwater issues for residents adjacent Linn Road. The project provided ADA-compliant ramps at all of the impacted intersections, one travel lane, and one bike lane in each direction. Additionally, the project has planter swales and sleeves inserted in the sidewalks for flags during the City’s annual 4th of July ceremony. The project team, including cooperation with the City, coordinated with appropriate agencies to have the in-water work window waived, and culvert construction was able to be constructed and open for annual the 4th of July parade. The Century West team also played a pivotal role in public outreach and coordinating with four different utility companies to provide multiple design options to eliminate some overhead utilities to provide a welcoming look the City desired.
