Project

Century West provided design and construction management for this 3,350-foot-long, paved path that is located on the top of the flood control dike along the Palouse River. The project included the paved path, benches, and trash receptacles. As the project was located along the Palouse River, coordination with several agencies including the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Federal Emergency Management Agency, and the Washington State Department of Ecology was required to make the project successful. The project required a biological assessment and coordination with State and Federal Wildlife agencies to make sure the project wouldn’t impact native threatened or endangered species. The project was funded through the Federal Highways Administration. Century West also provided environmental documentation coordination with the City of Colfax, Washington State Department of Transportation, and the public.
